This year, Macmillan Budding Scientist witnessed an overwhelming response from across the country, with over 2000 entries from 1200+ schools. The program unfolded in three stages: a preliminary screening where teams submitted a 3-minute video of their idea, evaluated by IIT research scholars, followed by zonal rounds held between December and February with our IIT regional partners, and culminating in the selection of the top 2 teams from each zone for the Grand Finale.
The Grand Finale, set for February 20, 2025 at IIT Delhi, will showcase the top 10 teams (2 each from North, East, South, West, and the Middle East) competing for the prestigious winner and runner-up titles.
A student of Std.VII A ( Nisarg Chirayubhai Patel) made a door lock system using face recognition. he had been selected as a finalist from the west zone. Mrs. Chaitali Mehta was also given a certificate as a guide teacher.

TERESIAN TREASURE TROVE -2024

Teresian Treasure Trove 2024 organised by St. Teresa’s Province, Mumbai is basically an Inter-School Competition of schools that belong to the Western Province of our Congregation (CCR). This year, the mega event was held in the diamond city, Surat on 23rd November 2024 on the theme ‘The Environmental Stewards’, Lourdes Convent School, being the epicentre of the occasion. Schools from Mumbai, Alibag and other places of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Lucknow with a total of nearly 19 schools had participated, thus knitting each of our institutions firmly. In fact, an ideal platform to showcase the talents of participants through innovative and creative efforts of every school. The newly elected Provincial Superior, Rev. Sr. Wilma Mendes was the Chief Guest which added glory to the whole event.
Primary Section Competitions were held on-line based on thematic reels of four minutes for Std I to V. Based on it’s originality, creativity, props and presentation, KG had to their account an action song. For a change, parents had to perform a rap song which too was recorded prior and were uploaded on the given date.
Apart from the above, Std VI to XII had science projects based on environmental conservation. Topics like Toxic to Tonic (Turning carbon into useful product), whey to pay wave (importance of whey). In teachers’ category, the project displayed was Ingenious Inga (highlighting the significance of plant inga). These categories were held at the host school, judged by renowned and experienced people. In nutshell, there were eight categories in all.
Queen of Angels’ Convent School succeeded in bagging nearly six out of eight categories, especially, the science projects of teachers and students in which we won prizes in every category. Special gratitude to our beloved Principal, Sr. Edwina, whose constant support and guidance brought honours to our institution.

Celebrating Champions of the Marvel Chess Championship
Congratulations to Parth Thakkar and Rajvi Shukla from Queens of Angels School for emerging as champions in the Marvel Game Chess Championship, each earning a cash prize of ₹7,000. The runners-up, Shreyansh Dinkar and Aarya Patil from Sanskar Vidya Bhavan, Bharuch, were awarded ₹5,000 each.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 34 schools across Bharuch, Ankleshwar, and Surat, and was successfully organized by P.P. Savani University, Kosamba, from December 21st to 23rd, 2024.
The Bharuch District Chess Association extends its heartfelt appreciation to all participants and congratulates the winners. Keep up the great work!
