LITERARY CLUB INAUGURATION
Literature is a gateway to a thousand words. The skill of evoking and understanding emotions and presenting different perspectives through words is a powerful tool that bridges gaps, fosters empathy and connects people across cultures and experiences.
The Literary Club was inaugurated on 24th August 2024 at the School Sports Complex by our beloved Principal, Sr. Edwina, to foster a love for literature, creative writing and public speaking among students.
The club aims to provide a platform for young minds to express their creativity, enhance their communication skills, engage in thoughtful discussions on a wide range of topics and attain proficiency in mastering the English Language.
The club’s objectives are to:
- Encourage reading and appreciation of literature.
- Develop writing and critical thinking skills.
- Promote public speaking and debate.
To mark the beginning of this exciting journey, the Literary Club hosted its first event – The Inter-House Debate Competition, on the same day. The judges were Prof. Amit Kapoor and Mrs. Linda. Students from all houses enthusiastically participated, presenting well-reasoned arguments on ‘Teenagers today are more influenced by peer pressure than Parental Guidance’. After intense debate, Dhruv Burman and Avipsha Kar of the Yellow House emerged as not only winners but also best speakers, the runner ups being the blue house participants, Granth Rajpurohit and Prachi Singh.
