There was an unusual excitement on the quadrangle and School Sports Complex of our school on the 5th September 2024, as the Student Council were engrossed in last minute preparations before the teachers’ entry at 7.15 a.m. They were requested to assemble first at the Sports Complex, where a token was given and to their surprise all were in the brackets of 1 to 4. Later, they were led to the Quadrangle by the QACS Commandos followed by paparazzi holding flashed lights cameras. The curtain was raised and soon teachers were astonished to see the decorated vicinity. According to their token numbers, which represented their states, teachers stood in different corners, while dances were performed on stage, as the anchors introduced each state they belonged to. What a unique way to welcome!
The programme began with Lighting of Lamp by the School Management, Coordinators and senior teachers. The prayer service was conducted by seven professionals of nation i.e. army, navy, doctor, scientist, judge and police dedicated to their teachers who helped them to achieve higher standards. The skit began by introducing the ancient form of learning i.e. Gurukul, represented by a guru and his shishyas, a place, where all were treated equally, whether a king’s kin or an ordinary man’s son. The theme was a transition of traditional to technology and back to traditional. In order to make the class interesting, the teacher had to shift overnight to take classes through audio visual graphics. However, the students realized the true importance of a teacher as they missed those encouraging words, scolding and motivating them very often. Lastly, they asked for forgiveness and insisted on taking up the lessons in traditional manner. Dances between the scenes made the moments light, when it touched the emotional peak. In the end, overjoyed, the teacher agreed and expressed her feelings, sitting in the garden with her students. After few years, the students, through proper guidance by the teacher, chose their path and moved ahead in life. Truly an heart touching skit!
The Principal, Sr. Edwina, the strong pillar behind the whole show, was invited upon the stage to express her views and later cake was cut, thus concluding the whole event. Later, teachers were escorted to their respective classes, where the students were ready to welcome them in the most decorative manner. After a joyous day, the students left school at 11 a.m. However, there was more to come. Games like treasure hunt were organised by the Student Council for the teachers, which was truly enjoyed with hot snacks in hand. Sumptuous lunch was arranged in a grand restaurant which was indeed enjoyed by everyone. Happy Teachers’ Day.
