GREETING THE GURUS WITH GRATITUDE AT QUEENS’ ARENA
‘Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.’
This impressive message printed on the invitation card, geared up the teachers to look their best on the Teachers’ Day celebration 2022, an event eagerly anticipated by the students. Until then, the day’s itinerary was kept totally under cover by the School Management and Student Council, including participants.Their sole intention was to make the day very special for their Teachers.
On 5th September 2022, sharp at 8am at School Quadrangle, the surprise came out and there opened the Pandora box full of amazements.‘Teachers: You are Rooted and Grounded in Love.’ –a meaningful backdrop that attracted the attention of Teachers. Well,thecelebration began with pinning up delicate badges and each Teacher was given a balloon, alternate red and white colours, and on reaching the stage was requested to release the same in the air. Believe it or not, the sky looked absolutely stunning and vibrant.
Then followed a prayer service, whichwas conducted in a unique way representing the real life bond, of various well known personalities with their gurus - Mother Mary and Her devotee, Chanakya and King Chandragupta Maurya, RamkrishnaParamhansa and Swami Vivekananda and so on. Our Principal, Sr. Juanita, in her speech, narrated meaningful lines which said that once a boy was asked, as to whose feet will he touch first: God or a teacher? He hurriedly replied that it would be a teacher because, according to him, teachers had taught him about God. Truly significant!
Later, an appealing envelope was given to each Teacher on which a printed message read: Please wait until we tell you to open this envelope.Oh, another surprise! A Prayer Dance and Welcome song made the scenic very modest, or could be put as, a warm up before a bang blast. It was right, the foot-tapping numbers began, first the juniors with BuddhuSaMaan, Hum NahiSudharenge, JaanekyuDilJantaHai; followed by the Seniors with Chipak, ChipakkeChaltihai, DilDubaand the list went on, mesmerizing the Teachers to the core. An emotional skit emphasizing the importance of Teachers in students’ life was performed by our students. The envelope surprise was revealed,when the Mentors were requested to read the content. Behold! Every card had distinct message for each Teacher, truly impressive! The romp ended with energy filled Garba. Our Manager, Sr. Floripe, appreciated the hard efforts put up by the teachers, thus unfurling the school’s reputation to the highest.
The ultimate surprise was a heart touchingsong rendered by all our dear Sisters exclusively for the Stars of the day, which made the latter very emotional. The celebration did not just end there, for a sumptuous lunch awaited at Lords’ Inn, Bharuch, duly enjoyed by everyone. All in all, a momentous day for every Teacher here at Queen of Angels’ Convent Hr. Secondary School, Bharuch!!
