SUPPORT STAFF DAY – A DAY WITH A DIFFERENCE
Silent workers when offered a break from their daily hard labour is worth relishing and a memory revered for long.
It was on 30th April 2024 morning when the senior school students were seen performing heavy tasks on the School Quadrangle like spreading sheets on ground, arranging chairs, mikes and stage to set up the place for Support Staff Day Celebration. The well dressed up Support Staff (English and Gujarati Medium) was respectfully welcomed by the Sisters, teachers and students as they held lit diyas in their hands with badges pinned up on their attire. The path gave a festive look with girls dancing to the tunes of Gujarati traditional ‘timli’. After a formal welcome, lighting the samai was performed by respected Sisters and Senior Support Staff followed by prayer service based on the verse of Bhagavad Gita and a prayer dance. An emotional enactment was performed by the students to highlight their roles in our institution. Then began the wholesome entertainment which included a Bollywood mashup dance, humorous drama and garba. The school helpers were invited on stage and felicitated with gifts. Later, respected Principals of both sections, Sr. Edwina and Sr. Harriet, thanked them for their tirelessly work in not just keeping the institution clean but helping in various activities. After the programme, all were taken to the School Sports Complex for games which was followed by sumptuous lunch duly shared by the Sisters and teaching staff. Truly a heartfelt gratitude!
A DAY WITH THE FORMER STUDENT COUNCIL
An interactive council guidance session was held in the library of Queen of Angels’ Convent Higher Secondary School which was attended by the students of 11th class. In this session, Mihika Suri, the former head girl of the
prestigious Lourdes Convent School, addressed us and gave valuable tips and guidance to future leaders of the school for effective management of the school for the upcoming year 2024 -25 reminding us about our responsibility if we become the council members. The session was quite interactive in which she asked us many questions and gave information to students regarding honesty, loyalty, unbiased behaviour, how to manage multiple tasks at a time including studies, and most importantly what it actually means to serve our own school by taking responsibility and make it feel proud. She even made us aware of what a leader truly is. A true leader is someone who inspires and guides others towards a common goal or vision. They possess qualities such as integrity, empathy, courage, and vision. A true leader fosters a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. He / She is a effective communicator, able to listen actively and communicate their ideas clearly. Moreover, they are adaptable and able to navigate challenges and uncertainties with resilience and creativity. Ultimately, a true leader is someone who brings out the best in others and leaves a positive impact on their team, organization, or community.

PLASTIC FREE LUNCH DAY
With a view to encouraging environmental awareness, the Eco Club organised a plastic free day on 24/4/24.
The staff and students refrained from using plastics in any form throughout the day and brought healthy, nutritious snacks to school.
This initiative was undertaken to spark a change in the general attitude towards preserving the environment and foster an awareness of the deep relationship between the health of the environment and the health of the individual.
An inspiring speech on the topic during morning assembly by the president, Master Maxino and the secretary, Master Ovesh led to the resolve to continue avoiding plastics in the school campus not just today but everyday.
The principal Sr. Edwina and the coordinator of the club distributed the placard that says ' No to Plastic'
